How we invest

The technical stuff:

Angular is an inception-stage fund. We prefer to invest in the first institutional round. We are often the first investor a company has.
Our first check is usually between $500K and $5M. We are set up to follow on throughout the life of a company.
It’s never too early. We often invest pre-revenue, pre-product, or pre-company. We’ve also invested in companies that achieved meaningful traction before raising venture capital.
We are focused on companies/founders that originate from Europe or Israel, but with a planned US GTM focus. Country of incorporation does not matter. A global mindset is a must.
We typically lead or co-lead rounds. We are comfortable investing alone.

The spiritual stuff:

Independence. We set up Angular Ventures to back heretical founders who are out to change the world by revolutionizing technologies and industries. We strive to be independent thinkers so that we can back independent thinkers. This often means that we are the only believers in a pre-consensus idea. That’s why we are here.
Optimism. Our role is to act as a capital partner to founders building towards a better future. We seek to be informed optimists: grounded in reality but able to imagine the most aspirational future states.
Team is everything. Each investment is a high-conviction long-term partnership. We want to take the time to get to know the founders we back - and we invest only when we have deep conviction in the people behind the company we are backing. We back first-time founders who see the world differently, and repeat founders who have already bent the world to their will.
Insight. There is no substitute for deep industry experience and market insight. We love partnering with opinionated founders who have earned the right to have a contrarian view.
Commercial instinct. We believe commercial instinct is a crucial driver of long-term success. We are here to help founders build sustainably durable businesses. We’re not here for vibe companies, empty venture markups, or science projects. We are here to help founders build and deliver innovative value to real-world customers.
Humility. Across years of venture capital and entrepreneurship, we’ve learned the value of humility. We aspire to be thought partners to the founders we work with - and we’ve built a deep support platform to help accelerate companies. Ultimately, however, we know we are minor supporting actors in the central arc of a founder’s path to greatness. We care deeply about our portfolio, but we know our place.
Alignment. We work to be the most founder-aligned investors on your cap table. That means 100% alignment in the short-term and long-term. That also means we will always tell you exactly what we think. Radical candor is the path to greatness.
